About the Artist

Carolina Martinez is a New York–based artist born and raised in Houston, Texas. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, her practice explores the metaphysical dimensions of Mexican American identity, drawing from Chicano cultural influence and personal experience navigating life between geographies. Her work examines memory, spirituality, and the layered realities of belonging shaped by migration and cultural inheritance.

Since relocating to New York City in 2018, CARO has exhibited in group shows across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Her work has also been included in a gallery exhibition in partnership with NYC Parks for Latin American Heritage. She investigates urban experience, ancestral memory, and the emotional and spiritual landscapes carried across generations.

CARO continues to develop a growing body of work that bridges personal narrative with broader questions of identity, displacement, and transcendence.
